Les Gets is a charming and authentic alpine village located in the French Haute-Savoie region, seamlessly integrated into the massive Portes du Soleil ski area. The local resort features two main sectors: the sunny Les Chavannes slopes and the quieter Mont Chéry side offering panoramic Mont Blanc views.
The resort village sits at an altitude of 1,172 meters, with the highest local lifts reaching up to 2,002 meters. The winter season typically runs from mid-December to mid-April. Its tree-lined runs provide excellent visibility and shelter during snowfall days.
Must-try runs include La Campanule (a scenic blue run with impressive views of Mont Blanc), Les Sautenailles (a rolling red run on Chavannes), and the challenging black mogul run Yéti under the Rosta lift. Over on Mont Chéry, key runs include the gentle blue Ourson and the steep red Le Lièvre.
Les Gets is widely praised for its family-friendly environment, traditional chalet architecture, and dedicated children's ski areas such as Grand Cry Territory. The après-ski scene is welcoming and relaxed, featuring cozy wine bars and traditional Savoyard dining rather than loud party venues.
The resort is exceptionally easy to reach, located just 70 km (around a 1-hour drive) from Geneva International Airport and train station.
The European Air Quality Index (AQI) measures the presence of particulate matter and gases. Values between 0 and 20 indicate very clean air. Above 50, air quality can noticeably decrease for sensitive individuals.
Our pollen index tracks the concentration of the most common allergens. A 'High' status means strong dispersion, which can directly impact hay fever symptoms in the region of Les Gets.
