La Rosière is a sun-drenched ski resort located in the French Tarentaise valley. As part of the cross-border Espace San Bernardo ski domain, it is one of the few French destinations where you can ski directly across the border into Italy (La Thuile).
The resort ranges from a base altitude of 1,190 meters up to 2,800 meters at Mont-Valaisan. Thanks to its south-facing orientation, La Rosière enjoys maximum sunshine, while the connection to the Italian side ensures excellent snow quality throughout the season.
The gentle blue run Tétras is hugely popular with families looking for wide, scenic cruising. Advanced skiers and freeriders head to the steep slopes of Mont-Valaisan or the Écureuil black run for high-adrenaline descents with stunning views toward Mont Blanc.
La Rosière offers a warm, family-friendly, and authentic Alpine vibe featuring traditional timber and stone chalets. Instead of wild nightlife, après-ski centers around relaxed terrace drinks, cozy mountain huts, and enjoying both French and Italian cuisine.
The resort sits roughly 20 km above the transport hub of Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The nearest international airports are Chambéry (approx. 125 km), Geneva (approx. 160 km), and Lyon-Saint Exupéry (approx. 200 km).
The European Air Quality Index (AQI) measures the presence of particulate matter and gases. Values between 0 and 20 indicate very clean air. Above 50, air quality can noticeably decrease for sensitive individuals.
Our pollen index tracks the concentration of the most common allergens. A 'High' status means strong dispersion, which can directly impact hay fever symptoms in the region of La Rosière.
