Climate and Nature

Iraq features a predominantly arid to semi-arid desert climate with hot summers and mild winters. Mountainous regions in Kurdistan experience alpine conditions with heavy winter snow. Geography is defined by the historic Tigris and Euphrates rivers, southern freshwater marshlands, and northern mountain chains.

Culture and Gastronomy

As ancient Mesopotamia, Iraq is celebrated as a cradle of human civilization. Culture blends millenniums of history, poetry, and sacred traditions. Gastronomy showcases unique specialties like Masgouf (seasoned open-fire grilled carp), Biryani, Dolma, Quzi (slow-cooked lamb served with spiced rice), and fresh dates.

Economy

Iraq's economy relies heavily on crude oil production, holding some of the largest proven petroleum reserves on Earth. Agricultural activities within the fertile Mesopotamian basin, religious tourism to holy cities, and infrastructure development projects represent key supplementary sectors.
