Climate and Nature
Ethiopia's climate varies considerably by altitude: the central highlands enjoy a temperate climate, whereas lower eastern and southern regions feature arid desert or tropical savanna conditions. The topography spans towering peaks like Ras Dashen, the surreal Danakil Depression (one of the hottest places on Earth), and Rift Valley lakes.
Culture and Gastronomy
Ethiopia possesses a unique heritage as one of the oldest Christian nations and the only African country never colonized. Culinary culture centers around Injera (a sourdough flatbread) served with spicy stews (Wat). The traditional coffee ceremony is a cornerstone of daily social life and hospitality.
Economy
The economy is historically agricultural, relying on exports of Arabica coffee, cut flowers, and oilseeds. In recent years, Ethiopia has made substantial investments in major infrastructure developments, including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), positioning itself as a regional manufacturing and energy provider.
