Climate and Nature
Chad features three distinct climatic zones: a hyper-arid Saharan desert climate in the north, a semi-arid Sahelian belt through the center, and a wet tropical savanna climate in the south. Geography spans from Saharan sand seas and sandstone canyons to lush southern wildlife reserves.
Culture and Gastronomy
Home to over 200 distinct ethnic groups, Chad showcases a vibrant mixture of nomadic Saharan and Central African cultures. Culinary staples revolve around grains like millet, sorghum, and maize. Popular dishes include Boule (a dense grain porridge), Daraba (okra and peanut butter stew), and fresh fish from Lake Chad.
Economy
The economy depends heavily on crude oil extraction and exports, which generate the majority of national revenues. Otherwise, most of the population engages in subsistence farming, cotton cultivation, and pastoral livestock production.
