Climate and Nature
Afghanistan features a continental climate characterized by extreme seasonal temperature variation. Winters bring freezing conditions and heavy snowfall across mountain ranges, while summers remain hot and dry. Terrain is dominated by the massive Hindu Kush ranges, high plateaus, river valleys, and arid southwestern deserts.
Culture and Gastronomy
Afghan culture reflects ancient Silk Road heritage, deeply linked with traditional codes of hospitality such as Pashtunwali. Gastronomy centers around seasoned rice, tender lamb, and fresh or dried fruits. The national dish is Kabuli Palaw (rice cooked with lamb, raisins, and sweet caraway-infused carrots), served alongside flatbread (Naan) and green tea.
Economy
The economy relies largely on agriculture and livestock rearing, famous for exports of pomegranates, nuts, saffron, and woven carpets. Additionally, Afghanistan holds vast untapped mineral reserves including copper, iron ore, lithium, and precious gemstones like lapis lazuli.
